Velazquez, Gomez, Prado Compete for ESPY Award

Jockeys John Velazquez, Garrett Gomez, and Edgar Prado are competing in the jockey category of the ESPY Awards, in which fans vote for outstanding performers or performances in 39 different categories.

The ESPYs, an Academy Awards-style show for sports, will be taped at Hollywood's Kodak Theatre on Wednesday, July 12 and televised on ESPN at 9 p.m. on Sunday, July 16. The event will be hosted by seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong.

Voting ends at midnight, July 9.
