The New York Racing Association and the Mid-Atlantic Cooperative have struck a signal-fee deal that will return the NYRA signal--currently from Belmont Park--to 16 East Coast racetracks and their affiliated off-track wagering outlets effective May 9.

The signal has been blacked out at the facilities since the Belmont meet began April 30.

“NYRA is very pleased to have this agreement in place with such a major simulcast partner," Hal Handel, NYRA executive vice president and chief operating officer, said in a May 8 statement. "We are glad to bring our races back to the fans at Mid-Atlantic tracks, and I’m sure the fans will be happy to have NYRA races back, especially as we head into the heart of the New York racing season."

There were no details on how much pari-mutuel handle and revenue NYRA and the importers lost because of the impasse.

Mid-Atlantic Cooperative members are Meadowlands, Monmouth Park, Freehold Raceway, and Atlantic City Race Course in New Jersey; Philadelphia Park Casino & Racetrack, Hollywood Casino at Penn National, and Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs in Pennsylvania; Charles Town Races & Slots in West Virginia; Delaware Park, Dover Downs, and Harrington Raceway in Delaware; Ocean Downs and Rosecroft Raceway in Maryland; Colonial Downs in Virginia; Suffolk Downs in Massachusetts; and Rockingham Park in New Hampshire.
